Duck Nuggets

Kids are funny. Especially ours. Often times I for sure KNOW I am outnumbered with the boys...especially when Lil Duck is not at home. There is lots of boob talk and phrases like "Death by nut sac" that somehow make it into musical renditions and pepper the days. Never a dull moment.

Waaaay out numbered but always laughing...we are always laughing! Which is a sometimes a good thing and sometimes especially bad when trying NOT to encourage certain behaviors in Lil Duck. She's sassy. She knows she is funny and she simply radiates when she knows she is making others laugh (apple...tree...couldn't be prouder).

I give you Duck Nuggets

Me: You're going to get yourself in big trouble!
Lil Duck: "...uh...like tow truck trouble?"
 ------------------------------------------------------------
Lil Duck: "Mom? Is it just me and you now? It is?! Can I take my pants off?" (she is absolutely MY child!)
 --------------------------------------------------------------
Lil Duck talking to Thing 1..."If you do, I'm gonna smack that turd right of you!"
 -------------------------------------------------------------

Lil Duck: "Mom? Have you ever tasted a shooting star? They taste like cherries.
-------------------------------------------------------------
Lil Duck: if you have it but don't get it back then you don't have it.
Irishman: huh?
Lil Duck: ugh... I don't know what the hell I'm talking about

-------------------------------------------------------------

While in the car and grumbling yet again about the lack of driving skills in those vehicles around us, Lil Duck pipes up from the back seat..."Well...I will just kick their ASS!" I swear she sounded just like Clint Eastwood.
 ------------------------------------------------------------
Lil Duck: Mom? Just call me Phillip Phillips. That's my new nick name."
Me: errrr....oooooookay
------------------------------------------------------------
After invading the sanctity of my bubbleacious tub o water one night, Lil Duck says "I see your boobs." To which I reply, "Yes, you've seen them before." Without missing a beat and laced with the tone of reminiscence she says, "Yes, yes I have. They looked just like that back when I use to drink from them."

One helluva memory this kid has! I hope she doesn't remember so vividly squeezing through my lady cave. Four is such a great age!

BWhahahahah the last one cracked me up.. You realize now that she is surrounded by boys she is gonna be meaner than any one of them combined?? Such is the way when she has protectors. My niece was the baby in a family of boys and cousins who were boys.. she is meaner than a rattlesnake..but funny as heck.

Duck Nuggets. Snort.

She's awesome. I love when you can tell even early on that a kid is going to be a kick-ass adult.

I love these kind of "nuggets".
Why why do I never remember to start writing such things done in a journal or something.

My 3 year old is obsessed with "dinky" lately. everything is dinky. which apparently means "no worries"
the hell?

Oh. My. God. I love your Lil Duck so very much. She is every bit her mama's daughter. Love it.

Related: last night we were watching basketball and my husband said "he just got nutted" and I said "nutted?" "yeah, when a guy dunks over you and his nuts hit your shoulder."
