You Know You Secretly Love It!

My kid loves it.

Period.

So step off if you don't (or click off...but we've done some really fun stuff. So you might wanna stick around).

To those three of you who actually have just as much fun with Elf On The Shelf as your children do, check out some of the antics our elf has been up to. I would love to hear your ideas! With about two weeks left until those fun (and somewhat creepy but emphasis on the FUN) elves fly back to the North Pole until being unboxed again next season, let us share. Tis the season for sharing...in the magic and wonderment, the excitement and curiosity, and pure joy from starting, continuing and participating in traditions and family time. (feel guilty yet for hating on the thing?)

And yes, I can call Elf On The Shelf family time because Thing 2 really enjoys helping me create the scenes and brainstorm the next move.

So far...our Elfie has created a little mischief, attempted a joy ride, and sat on a shelf like a good little elf...
Elfie arrives

Elfie cleaned Lil Duck's room while she was away and took a nap in the princess castle

Elfie went bungee jumping

He tp'd one of the Christmas trees

He drew with lipstick on the mirror while hanging from the light

Elfie sat on the shelf like a good little elf

He turned Willie the deer into a reindeer and attempted a joyride

Got into a wee bit of trouble for drawing on Lil Duck's picture

and entertained the ladies with a story about monkeying around

So whatchu got? I have some more ideas for the coming days but I'd love to know what you have done or are planning on doing. Mostly because I need to know there are others out there who actually LIKE the EOTS. All I get is shit for this stuff. I don't care if he is creepy...
I am the ELF the ELF is ME!

I like our EOTS, but I hate trying to come up with different scenarios. We didn't pull Cody (our Elf) out until last week. Here's a link to a few things we did with our elf last year:

Your ELF is cool. I'm guessing lil' duck is priceless when she see's what he gets into every night. As long as you are having fun and she is having fun, it's a tradition she will treasure when she's older.

Who cares if some of us think he's creepy?

Loved the bungee jumping idea. I kind for enjoy watching the Elf adventures that people do. But then, I have Nelson on FB so I guess he is kind of like that.

I think you have to have a child to actually appreciate this tradition. I only heard of it a couple of years ago and I think it is a rather creepy looking guy personally.

Well, you know it freaks me out. But these are cute ideas. I wouldn't remember to change it up every night.

Okay. That Elf looks like a lot of work! Glad my kids are beyond that age. I think I'd forget about it and just find another myself label a failure in another mommy category! :0)

My step sister froze water in a flatter plastic container, tied mini candy canes on the elf's feet and posed him in the freezer making it look like he'd been ice skating. It sounds silly typing it out, but it was really cute!

Wait what?? You didn't see MY EOTS?? Seriously?? I. Am. Crushed. Mine were too old for this game when it came out.. so my elves have been adopted with other families. All but one and he sits in our tree.. but I asked for a new elf.. perhaps if you had read my blog you would know that lol.. j/k j/k

I'm in between with the elf, I like the cutesy fun stuff (like what you do) but the people who take it holy mother of everything over the top lunacy...they make me tired. That silly elf! I like Ally's comment about the ice skating, cute!
