It Was My First

I was a little shaky, a lot unsure and for the most part having a difficult time controlling my emotions...Firsts will do that to you.

Not just once...ten times.

Ten different Firsts.

Bridget from Twinisms (<---which is a "first" that won't make my list) and Stasha from The Good Life are curious as to what experiences are found on our life's Firsts list. Think about it, write about it and link up! Be a cool kid for once (<---there's your first First!)

10 Firsts

1. First time I actually drank beer and liked it is a part of my First date with Irishman. (a twofer)

2. First time I stood in front of 20,000+ people. (yes, there would be other times over the coming years. Its an insane rush!) I was 16 years old and singing the National Anthem at a major league baseball game in our city. (I swear I have a photo of me on the field somewhere, I just couldn't find it)

3. My First Boyfriend....according to the family photo albums. My family....they fancy themselves a bunch of comedians (apple-tree-shrug)...since this is technically recorded in our family "History" I have learned to accept it. Plus, its just pretty damn funny and oddly enough I am totally enthralled with Irishman's man fur. Now, it doesn't rival this caveman by any means, but its still sexy as hell (Irishman's manfur...not the caveman pictured).

4. Big Rock...the First place I learned to skip little rocks. I was 33...yes, it was just this past summer. God Bless Irishman's patience.

5. First headshot. I was 20 in this photo. Amazing how time flies and it would be years before I was in front of the camera again (just last month...and I haven't gotten those photos back yet). Who knew the next time around it would be with stretch marks and baby jelly**.
 6. First time involved with a television production and seeing myself on the "big screen". The whole process was fascinating!
*that's me in the fairy bubble*

7. First photo holding my baby sister after she came home (actually my cousin is holding her. I'm just looking cute).

8. First Peppermint Martini...there are a lot of other Firsts that surround the enjoyment of a new holiday tradition. I am SUPER SUPER looking forward to Irishman donning his Santa Bartender hat for these.

9. First getaway Irishman took me on. The last time I had left my town's borders had been 8 years prior. It was certainly time to get away, and it was an extremely memorable First.

10.  First car in which I learned to drive a manual. Wasn't long before I was banging gears and it deeply, deeply rooted a desire for speed, the pedal to the floor and slamming through gears!
*not my actual car but it looked JUST like this*

I'm curious and nosy and want to know what is on YOUR list of Firsts. Link up with Stasha for Monday Listicles and let me snoop! OH and be SURE to check back next week! I do believe I have the honor of staking claim to the listicle topic!
10 Amazing Memories From A Not So Distant Past...reach into your short term memory and pull out the awesomeness of recent years, months, weeks, days, hours... awesome moments aren't reserved for "way back when".

**Definition of Baby jelly: (adj) describing the parts of the body post child bearing that resemble a bowl full of room temperature jello.

Singing in front of that many people... that is brave.

If I sang in front of that many people they would consider it an act of terrorism! :)

Also please consume some ifc those peppermint martini's on my behalf since its going to be a long while before I taste alcohol again!

This is a great idea.. except,, my firsts.. are all way back in the past... which means I'm ........................................................................................................................Very old and senile.. the only first I remember is the first time I realized, I'm senile!

does that count?

You know who I am, but others don't! However I came up with a couple firsts to share!
1. You were the first girl I ever asked, and my first rejection, so yeah thanks for that memory!
2. My first "time" with a woman was when I was 15, she was 36 and we were in her husband's 1984 Nissan Sentra!
3. The first time I tasted the perfume on the nape of my wife's neck I'd love her forever, regardless of how she felt.
4. The first time I held my daughter a softness overwhelmed my heart!

That's the ones ill share.

I still can't skip rocks, I'm 38! Lame.

The peddle to the floor in trucker language is Peddle To The Metal. And if you sign the National Anthem (or any other song) can they tell you are off key?

You are very brave singing in front of so many. I could talk in front of people, but singing is not my forte.
You reminded me of a time when my class went to kids TV program called Harrigan - and we did get to sing the theme song with the actor.
Gosh, I hope that doesn't show up on YouTube one day. I'd like that one to be an "undiscovered" first.

I remember the first time I liked beer too! Before I was 25 or so, I'd always had mainstream big brewery lagers & pilsners. When I went to a beer tasting at a local microbrewery & tried ALE for the first time, I fell in love.

I suspect that my 'baby jelly' is somewhat related to my love for ales...

You were in a fairy bubble on t.v.! How cool is that?!

And I am 41 and have yet learned how to skip rocks. I've tried. It's apparently over my head.

First, that is awesome that you sang the National Anthem in front of that many people, but holy cow that would be scary!!!
I love that fall landscape pic from your first getaway.

I can't sing solo in front of my dog much less a stadium full of people. How great is that. And I am partial to blue toenail polish myself.

These are AWESOME! I love your firsts! (The car I learned to drive a stick shift on was nowhere NEAR that cool! I feel cheated!)
That fairy bubble first is totally cool. If I had ever done that, I'd never stop talking about it. EVER!! People would meet me for the first time and say, "Oh, are you that lady that always talks about being in the fairy bubble? I've heard of you."

Seriously, you are the cutest thing EVER...obvi. But I LOVE you with the long, dark hair. Very Mila Kunis. I have a crush on you now. ;)

Great list, and I'm looking forward to next week's topic!

The pic of your getaway is beautiful! And I used to be able to skip rocks, but I have somehow lost the knack for it over the years. I was practicing this summer as we taught my oldest. (He quickly mastered it, while I struggled.)

You still look as gorgeous as you did when you were 20. You were a gorgeous teenager, too.

I'm still laughing at manfur and I yes please on the peppermint martini!

Really cute photos! And that TV part must have been really entertaining, being in a bubble and such. Were you a fairy?

angel shrout said...

Ok the pic of you with the dark hair.. holy crap you are sexy there. Yeah girl crush like Jana.. I mean you are gorgeous now but just that pic. Maybe because you were young and life hadn't played some bullshit tricks on ya at that point. I learned to drive on a manual. My step dad insisted saying if an emergency ever happened I could drive anything.

Wow I could never sing in front of that many people! Of course I suck at singing! And now I want to try a peppermint martini!

I can't even sing in the shower, let alone 20K peeps. Looking forward to next week's listicles you inspired. Already started preparing it!

I would have no problem speaking in front of that many people...but singing...hell no! I love public speaking, I guess I am just a ham that way.

Stasha said...

You make a smashing fairy!! I am so super duper excited about the topic next week. Thank you xo
