KaChow Princess

52 Weeks of Happiness - Week 5

About 4 weeks ago Lil Duck and I started our herb garden. She decorated some pots...she picked out stickers and I LOVE that she chose both CARS stickers and Disney Princesses. She is such a well rounded dirt lovin DuckPrincess! We got REALLY dirty and put a little soil in the pots while we were at it, dropped in some seeds and watered them daily.

She has been SO excited to see them sprout and grow. We check them daily and water them together. When they are big enough we'll replant them outside in our deck garden. For now, we feed them love and water and sunshine on the kitchen table. We have 6 rockin pots total! And she is super excited to be able to start cooking with her basil, rosemary, parsley and mint!

Sounds so fun!! Can't wait for my daughter to start her little garden. For now I am thrilled she seems to enjoy pulling weeds!

Yay! That is so nice for you to do together. I know my kdis would love doing since I found both of them digging in a big dirt pile the other day. I guess I should put them to work!

I just bought some chalkboard paint for a project I'm working on I'm addicted to it so bad that I went in the garage and got every one of my terra cotta pots and painted some on them. Then I HAD to plant something in them (lol), so I picked up some seeds and I've planted them. I can't wait to see them start coming up! I love the way O decorated them...so dang cute!

That is so cool that you two did that.

Ironically me and my kids started one last night in my back yard. We have a tomato plant, some parsley, and some cilantro growing in our little garden.

Love the project. My clowns and I garden every year as well. Can't wait to see what wonderful dishes you make using your herbs.

Herb gardens ROCK!!! I would have one...'cept I have a black thumb. I am not even allowed to water my sister's plants when she goes on vacation. :(

Yay! They are looking good! I meant to tell you, you could make small boxes or window boxes of things that only need a 1-5" growth space. We grew jalepenos in 15" pots last year on the closed in tiny patio!

(and reminds me we have so much work to do to get our little bity garden ready!)

The real point is to show her how to dry them out in the closet, chop'em up, roll'em and smok'em. Start wit a small one for her.

Adorbs. I don't think I'm in any condition to plant this year. Which sucks. Maybe I'll have The Girl do this next year with me.

I never thought to put fun stickers on the pots!

What a great idea!

Hurry, get me to a craft shop!!! (-:

I love this! The *first* thing I plan to do when I get back to my apartment is pot some herbs. Alas, we don't have any outside space (stupid apartment building), but I wanted to try a window sill garden. It's awesome your little Duck is so excited! Clearly she has a green thumb!

I'm jealous. My lil duck wants to plant and I have the blackest thumb in the world. Seriously. Maybe we'll try something like that but then we'd have to be sure to keep it out of the reach of the kitty-cats!
